War Child Facilitator - EASE and BeThere

Freelancer, Part-time · Amsterdam

Wie zijn wij?
War Child Netherlands is one of the fundraising members of the War Child Alliance. War Child Netherlands is responsible for fundraising in the NL market, as well as programme implementation in the Netherlands.
War Child has developed a set of evidence-based interventions called the Care System. The ultimate goal is to support the mental wellbeing of children. Given the current gaps and needs of refugee children and youth in the Netherlands, War Child has decided to also start implementing a set of tools and interventions in the Netherlands. War Child is specifically looking for a pool of facilitators for EASE and Be There. The facilitators will support the scale up of the EASE and Be There interventions in the Netherlands.
  • EASE (Early Adolescent Skills for Emotions): War Child has, led by WHO, developed, piloted and researched EASE, with the aim to train communities and partner organisations to implement quality and timely mental support to youth.
EASE is an early treatment intervention for groups of youth (10-15 years old) exposed to armed conflict, displacement, and other forms of adversity. The program is designed to help reduce stress and improve the wellbeing of youth who experience mental health problems.
  • BeThere: War Child has developed a group intervention for parents and caregivers of children exposed to armed conflict, displacement, and other forms of adversity. The program is designed to help parents and other caregivers reduce their own stress and find greater support, so that they feel better emotionally, and have more energy to be the kind of parents they wish to be. The intervention aims to increase knowledge and skills related to parenting, in order to lower the stress of raising children in difficult conditions.
Wie zoeken wij?
Purpose of the assignment

The aim of this assignment is to carry out War Child's EASE and BeThere programme, to promote the resilience and wellbeing of refugee youth and their caregivers.

The War Child facilitator will implement the EASE intervention with groups of adolescents and their caregivers, living in refugee shelters across the Netherlands. This includes implementation of the complete process from the intake and assessment to the facilitation of all meetings with the adolescents and those with their caregivers, until the post assessment.

Furthermore, the War Child facilitator will carry out the BeThere programme with groups of caregivers living in refugee shelters across the Netherlands. This includes the complete process from intake and assessment, the facilitation of all nine meetings with a group of caregivers to the post assessment.

Facilitators always work in pairs and under the supervision of a War Child trainer and specialist.

Both programmes will be adapted for Arabic, Ukrainian speaking refugees in the Netherlands. War Child facilitators will contribute to the process of contextualizing the tools and interventions to these specific groups of refugees.

Over ons
Onze organisatie

Veiligheid

Daarom werken we efficiënt.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
